Tips, Tools and Tricks
I wanna tell you about one of my proudest finds at an estate sale! I like to scour garage sales, estate sales, and pawn shops when I have time, you NEVER know what kind of interesting treasures you might find, usually for cheap or you can haggle!
At one estate sale, I found a 3-foot pipe wrench that is possibly from the fifties. I’ve ended up using it on many occasions, loosening up stubborn steel gas lines on buildings, straightened a bent exhaust pipe, unbent a bumper and loosened rusted bolts and did some steel bending for fabrication with it. And I used it to lift the tires on a truck to test the ball joints. The Jaw opens up to 5 inches! It weighs 16 pounds!
I like to tease people by telling them to “Talk to the complaint department” and I point to my wrench. I have to admit I really didn’t think I had anything to use it on when I bought it – for a grand total of $15! I saw the great big beauty and I HAD to have it!!!
But I have been AMAZED at how many times I’ve been able to use it and I’ve grown to appreciate it!
I have a love for vintage tools because they are made so well and they are almost always American made and they were built to last!
