In this second half of this post, we continue with the 4×4 section of this car show. There is a gorgeous jeep in a wonderful color of blue, I wish I had the opportunity to take more pictures of this one because it was quite the display but there were so many people around this one that I couldn’t get in any clear shots.
Our next vehicle is a beautiful Jeepster 4×4 pickup and has an amazing patina finish and it just shows this old truck has seen a lot of miles and still looks good for its age!
So our next vehicle is a really radical Jeep Comanche. The owner of this truck has spared no expense to make this a wicked off-road/desert runner. This thing gets me excited about the possibilities of my Suburban when I go off-roading with it in the future.
Our next one is a Toyota SUV that I give high fives and thumbs up to with respect because it’s a vintage Land Cruiser. It may be my favorite all-time vehicle that Toyota has ever built that deserves any Kudos from me because back in the first years of the Toyota Land Cruiser, they were actually good looking and they were actual 4-wheel drives and not loaded with luxury options. It was the real definition of the SUV class! Not like what Toyota is building now, the vintage ones will always continue to be favored in my heart.
Our last car is a 2020 Mini Cooper convertible in a beautiful aqua paint color! Closely similar to my Little Chevy’s original vintage color. I’ve noticed lately a lot of other automotive manufactures have been trying to bring back the colors of cars from the fifties and sixties and it’s been pretty cool to see it! My wife and I have really enjoyed seeing the change.
I also had the opportunity this year to do a couple of test drives of new cars at the Auto Show. The first one I drove was the 2020 Honda Accord with a V-6 engine and a six-speed manual gearbox. Which surprised me because when manufacturers set up the test drives, customers always ask for no manual transmissions they always ask for automatics. This year they had manuals available and when I spoke to the representative who drives with you for the brand, I was told that customers wanted manual transmissions this year. So the Honda Accord I drove I was impressed by the comfort and all the luxury appointments with what Honda has put into this car this year! The exterior design of the car is also very appealing! Honda has hit the home run with the model this year!
Next, I test drove a 2020 Ford Ranger. I had been looking forward to driving this one. I was also waiting for the introduction of this truck and after driving it, I TOTALLY understand why it took Ford so long to introduce it to the world! They’ve done a pretty good job with the comfort of the cab and everything in the dashboard is within easy reach. Not too distracting for the driver, and had plenty of power and very responsive transmission, I had only wished that they would offer a manual transmission in trucks again.
The next Ford I drove was a 2020 Ford F-250 with the power stroke diesel. Now I have driven this truck in this body style with the military-grade aircraft aluminum body a couple of times and I am still quite impressed with it. It’s a good solid truck, well-appointed when it comes to comfort and all the luxury features for anybody that ever wants to buy one I would suggest it as a truck, but be sure you have the bankroll for it! Because these trucks can be PRETTY PRICEY!!!
